The second generation Kia Cee’d is already on sale in the UK from this month, the price is set from £14,395 for the entry-level 1 trim.

The 2012 Cee’d doesn’t change substantially from its predecessor but showcases a more appealing style with high-quality materials. Nevertheless the car keeps the cheap and competitive price with the seven-year warranty introduced with the earlier model. The new car receives standard six airbags, electronic stability control, Vehicle Stability Management system. Regarding the mechanic, Kia introduces, for the first time on the model, a new dual-clutch automatic gearbox and a direct injection engine.

Basic 1 trim features many equipment as standard climate control, Bluetooth and electric windows.

Upgrading to next-level 2 will costs £2,000 and adds cruise control and parking sensors. The third-level trim model, which cots £18,995 offers satellite navigation, automatic wipers and headlights, climate control.

Kia ends the range offering with the 4 and 4 Tech trim levels. They will cost £20,595 and £22,495 respectively with the first adding 17-inch alloy, leather seats and a heated steering wheel. The Kia Cee’d range-topping 4 Tech can please buyers with a nice panoramic roof, electric seats and self-parking system.

Two petrol engines and two diesels available 

From this month’s launch are available in the range a 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre, both diesels, with two of same size capacity as petrol, a 98bhp 1.4-litre and a 133bhp 1.6-litre unit. The big-size diesel choice will be accessible in either 126bhp or 133bhp, while the lower 1.4-litre, which is the most efficient unit, claims a claims a free car tax thanks to a 76.3mpg with 97g/km CO2 emissions. One more option in the 1.4-litre turbodiesel is offered with a 89bhp power unit, this promises only £20 of car tax with a 68.9mpg and 109g/km CO2, available in 1 trim only.
