New Mazda3 ready to go.
The second-generation Mazda3 comes three years after launch with a facelift that involves changes to the design as well as the use of new engines named SkyActiv. Following the success of the current version, now the 2012 Mazda3 is ready to the market as will be launched this fall. The car maker also insisted that its Minagi concept shown at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show 2011 will go into production.

In typical facelift fashion, the updated model comes with new bumpers, a revised grille, exclusive headlights and the restyled 16″/17″ alloy wheels. Finishing details for the inside, with a new white lighting effects for the instrument panel and the screen of the center console. The latter has received also a black wrestling at the bottom, with shiny chrome rings. Body’s colors are a total of eight including the brand new Autumn Bronze Mica. The changed model will include a large 5.8″ touch screen, Blue tooth connection, while the integrated Tom Tom navigation with 4 GAB memory is available on request. Among other standard equipments the leather upholstery on seats, shift knob and hand brake, the Key-access and Bose sound system with 10 speakers. In terms of safety the face lifted Mazda3 comes with the most important accessories as active front head-rests, TICS, automatic alerts of emergency braking, rear camera, parking sensors and bi-xenon adaptive headlights.

The engine range includes eight engines, two 2,2-liter turbo diesel with 185 hp and 150 hp, the 1,6-liter, 115 hp and 270 Nm of torque which promises a fuel economy of 4,3 l/100 km. As for gasoline, the base engine is a 1,6-liter with 105 hp, then rising to a 2,0-liters Sky Activ-G with 150 hp. Top of range is the powerful 2,3-liter with 260 hp and 380 Nm of torque but reserved only to the Mazda3 MPS. According to Mazda this engine can take just 6.1 seconds on the 0-100 km/h an reach a 250 Km/h top speed.
To improve the car balance on the straight driving, the under-body has been stiffened and reinforced allowing the perfecting insulation for noises and vibrations. Also optimized the suspension settings (McPherson front and multi-link at the rear) to offer the right harmony between balance and comfort.
