Reported by the car maker, the new Qashqai 1.6 liter diesel is delivering 130 hp and 320 Nm of torque, which is the same torque as the one delivered by the 2.0 dCi unit, allowing the 2012 Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi to hit a top speed of 193 km/h. All Nissan Qashqai 1.6 liter versions and Qashqai +2 will benefit from a six-speed CVT re-configured transmission and the Pure Drive name is offered to every car in the range, which is emitting not more than 130 g of CO2 per kilometer.

With this new diesel-powered car engine, we offer all of our customers the benefit of lowered emissions amount and at a high efficiency of the vehicle while travelling. The Nissan Qashqai engine is exceptional, the best in its class in many different ways. It offers the same dynamic on the streets as the 2-liter dCi engine, but fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are at the same rate or lower than those corresponding to our existing Nissan Qashqai 1.5 liter dCi engine”.
