The Mercedes SLK 250 CDI will be the first version of the German roadster with a turbocharged diesel engine. The Mercedes SLK 250 CDI, which will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show (15-25 September), next to the SLK 55 AMG, has the four-cylinder 2,143-liter common rail from 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque as a SLK AMG. The SLK 250 CDI will be offered initially with an automatic transmission 7G-Tronic sequential-Plus, while the 6-speed manual will be available from March 2012, in both cases the performance of the roadster will be at the top. According to the German carmaker, the new gearbox allows the SLK 250 CDI to start from zero and reach 100 Km/h in 6.7 seconds, 80-120 km/h in 4.3 seconds and get a top speed of 243 km/h . Among the most important features of the aluminum engine is the fourth-generation common-rail with pressure of 2,000 bar, the two sequential turbo boost and the standard start-stop system. The SLK 250 CDI, which was announced last January, could herald the arrival of a V6 version with a 3-liter from 265 hp. In terms of fuel consumption, the SLK 250 CDI promises to travel 20.4 kilometers with 1 liter of diesel and CO2 emissions of 128 grams per kilometer.
